🎥 Live dealer casino in Ontario and Alberta, explained

Real cards, real wheels, filmed live: how it works, how it is controlled, and which tables cost the least.

1What a live table is

A real dealer deals real cards or spins a real wheel in a studio, filmed live; you bet from your screen and the result comes from the table, not from a random number generator.

2Controlled like the rest

In Ontario, live dealer games have their own rules: access to the gaming equipment is limited and logged, and the operator must ensure that presenters cannot compromise the game (AGCO Standards 4.35 and 4.36).

The electronic equipment used at live tables must be approved or certified by an AGCO-registered lab, and the operator monitors what the games pay back (AGCO Standards 4.08 and 4.09).

3The classic tables

Blackjack, roulette and baccarat are the usual live tables, alongside game shows. Same rules, same house edge as the virtual version: European roulette costs 2.70%, American roulette 5.26%, and Banker in baccarat 1.06%.

4The real cost is speed

A live table usually plays slower than a virtual one: fewer bets per hour, so a lower cost per hour for the same bet. Game shows, on the other hand, often carry a higher house edge: check the payout in each game's help screen.

5Your age

19 or older in Ontario, 18 or older in Alberta, as for every online game.
