One format for three competitions

Since 2024/25, the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League each start with a single league phase of 36 clubs in one table. A win is worth 3 points, a draw 1.

• Champions League and Europa League: 8 matches per club, 4 at home and 4 away, against 8 different opponents.
• Conference League: 6 matches against 6 different opponents.
• 1st to 8th: straight into the round of 16.
• 9th to 24th: two-legged knockout play-offs, with the clubs placed 9th to 16th seeded against those placed 17th to 24th.
• 25th and below: out, with no drop into another competition.

💡 On the last matchday, the stakes can be very different from one club to another: one is chasing the top 8, another just needs to stay in the top 24. Look at the table before you look at the price.

Nine English clubs in Europe

• Champions League: Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Aston Villa and Liverpool.
• Europa League: Bournemouth, Sunderland and Crystal Palace.
• Conference League: Brighton.

The holders: Paris Saint-Germain retained the Champions League in May 2026, drawing 1-1 with Arsenal after extra time in Budapest and winning on penalties. Aston Villa won the Europa League, 3-0 against Freiburg in Istanbul, and Crystal Palace won the Conference League, 1-0 against Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig, their first European trophy. PSG then beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup.

No more away goals: what it changes

The away goals rule was abolished in every UEFA club competition from 2021/22. A two-legged tie level on aggregate goes to two 15-minute periods of extra time at the end of the second leg, then to penalties.

• "Match result" markets settle after 90 minutes plus stoppage time: extra time and penalties do not count.
• "To qualify" markets include extra time and penalties.
• In a second leg, a team protecting a one-goal lead no longer gains from an away goal: tactics, and totals, can look different from the old days.

The Women's Champions League

Eighteen clubs play a league phase of 6 matches each, 3 at home and 3 away. The top 4 go straight to the quarter-finals, 5th to 12th play two-legged play-offs, 13th to 18th are out. Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City represent England. The final is on 29 May 2027 at the Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw. Barcelona are the holders after beating OL Lyonnes 4-0 in Oslo in May 2026.

Midweek Europe, weekend league

Europe changes the weekend too. A club back from a Thursday night away trip often rotates on Sunday, and the price does not always move as much as the team sheet.
